Andre Seldon Jr., 22, Found Dead at Porcupine Reservoir
Former Belleville High School Star Was Promising Cornerback
Andre Seldon Jr., a cornerback for the Utah State football team, died in an apparent drowning at a Utah reservoir on Saturday night, the school announced.
Seldon, 22, was found in the Porcupine Reservoir, roughly 40 minutes from campus, according to the school. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Seldon, a former star at Belleville High School in Michigan, was a promising cornerback for the Aggies. He started 12 games in 2020 and had 29 tackles, two interceptions, and five pass breakups.
The school expressed its condolences in a statement, saying that Seldon was a "talented young man with a bright future." Head coach Blake Anderson said that Seldon was "a great teammate and a wonderful young man."
Seldon's death is a tragic loss for the Utah State football program and the Belleville community. He will be remembered as a talented player and a promising young man.
